ABOUT

Flávia Nascimento started her career in Belo Horizonte, Brazil as an actress, circus artist, and clown before moving to Quebec City. Part of the Quebecois artistic landscape as “that charming Brazilian performer,” Flavia fully devoted herself to her singing in 2014, producing her first big solo show in Sherbrooke along with her four accompanying musicians that she affectionately dubs “her smallest big band”. She was the Stingray Music Rising Star Award winner at Montreal’s Mundial Music Showcase. In late Spring 2016 she releases her first full length CD, Beija Flor.

Her influences range from the traditional forro style of Luiz Gonzaga and Jackson do Pandeiro to Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento and Elza Soares, all done with a tad of circus flair. Joining her are stellar band of Pedro Joel on bass, Andre Valerio on  guitar,Junior and Riquinho Fenandez on drums.
